Many of us feel unworthy of God’s gift of grace and mercy. I have struggled with this most of my life because I was severely bullied in elementary and middle school. When I think of how Jesus died and why, I tear up. How can I ever repay Him for what He did? I can’t. How can I ever be that worthy? I can’t.
But God placed this truth in my heart. That is not how God wants us to feel. That is another side of pride, because it continues to focus on ourselves and the past. God has made us new and wants us to focus on Him and the future.
We should be humble, yes, but not despondent. And yes, it can be a daily struggle because the devil is always there to drag us back into our old ways of thinking. So what can we do?

PRAISE
Pray (anytime you feel your old ways creeping back)
Recall His blessings
Acknowledge His holiness
Invoke the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts
State your specific thanks to God
Exalt His name above all names.
And above all, don’t let the devil steal your joy! Sounds easy, but it is a lifelong task. That is why Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to help us. Every day!
Start and end each day with praise. Try it for a month. And watch how the Holy Spirit works in your life. It has definitely begun to help me.
